In the Beginning… Techies
Many years ago the world of computer graphics consisted of a few pioneers, but mainly an overabundance of work from non-graphic ‘techies’. The industry had a way to go before the tools would be available and approachable to professionals of an artistic nature.
The Desktop Designer
Now we live in the day of the desktop designer. Yet, sometimes there still is a separation and lack of understanding between the artist and technical components. Many people enter the world of computer graphics to create simple presentations or do desktop publishing. But once on the computer, a whole new world opens up with technological terminology and unfamiliar ideas. Plus, it is also important that the technical user has a reference for the often cryptic language and imaginative notions of the artist without going back to art school! Suprasite is your one stop resource to help bridge this gap and provide a reference for both artists and technical user.
Glossary of Terms
The site highlights information from Desktop Publishing, Desktop Presentations, Video Graphics, Image Processing, 3D Modeling and Animation, Animation, Graphic Arts Production and Fine Arts.
This site is subtitled The ‘Electronic’ Graphics Authority, as opposed to ‘Computer’ Graphics Authority, because the area of visual arts in the computer graphics arena encompasses much more than strictly computers. As electronic graphic applications continue to grow and develop new technologies, future editions will reflect this growth and chronicle this major movement in the graphic industry.
With all of this in mind, we hope to provide a comprehensive resource that will provide quick access to the information needed by our new generation of computer ‘creatives’.
